Wing'd Rider Rally #1 - Suggestions

How about some suggestions of activities/events/fun things you would like to see at the 1st Wing'D Rider Rally........
Just suggestions for those in charge to consider for this and future rallies......

One of my suggestions is to please keep the vendor section as motorcycle related as possible.......understand bills need to be paid, but the last few Wing Dings were getting ridiculous with vendors selling non-related trinkets.

Also, like to see John grilling up some burgers for members....... :p

Sorry Brian I have to disagree to a point. Motorcycle related vendors are great for me, but my wife really likes something different. Not the real cheesy trinkets but clothing, jewelry, and automotive, motorcycle related or not. A little variety keeps it interesting for all. Most of the rallies I attend around my area also draw non motorcycle riders that are there to check out the whole experience. If they support a non-motorcycle vendor, all the better. It makes the rally look bigger and more interesting.

Look at the various forums.......that has been a huge complaint by the majority for many years, just sayin.
A little bit is fine, but when it approaches 50% of the vendors that have absolutely nothing to do with motorcycling, it's ridiculous IMHO.
I can attend a dozen local home improvement shows and see trinkets......don't want that at a motorcycle rally.

Anyway....that was my suggestion and will help draw more motorcyclists, which is what this group is founded on.

Other suggestions for a fun rally? :giggle:

I agree with Timothy. We need some educational seminars offered at Wing'd Rally #1 and subsequent rallies for that matter. I get a lot of benefit from attending these seminars. They need to be kept informative and not turned into marketing pitches. I wouldn't mind seeing something from Honda itself, a tire manufacturer like Bridgestone, Michelin, or Dunlop, a major helmet manufacturer (many to choose from), and a communications manufacturer.
Also, don't neglect evening entertainment for the duration of the rally! Some ideas.....
Have an evening meal with a live band playing music from the 1980s, 1970s, & 1960s with an area where we could dance if we wanted. It would be great if we could do this outdoors, weather permitting. During the breaks the band might take, have a KJ available with a wide karaoke selection. My wife and I are both former karaoke entertainers and while I can't answer for her, I would be happy to entertain with selections from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. It might even be we could have a "preregistration of karaoke performers" before the rally commences and if there were enough to commit themselves to it have another evening meal with "You Being the Entertainment" night, again preferably outdoors, weather permitting. Another option might even be a movie night where the 1971 film "On Any Sunday" was played. That's always great to watch. Make the evenings exciting, especially since we are going to be along the iconic Route 66.

I think for a couple of years while the organization grows, it may be difficult to attract good quality motorcycle related vendors. It costs a lot of money for the major vendors to go to an event so I think this organization is going to have to prove its more than a flash in the pan!

We are members of the National Street Rod Assoc. At there National events they have a luncheon for the ladies. (Ladies Tea). It provides entertainment for ladies such:
A. Fashion show
B. Art & craft
C. Your buses that would go to the shopping areas in town.
D. Cooking show
E. Speakers

They have a light lunch. Like a shower.

They give away door prices.

It could easily be geared towards motorcycles.
