Recommendation for Bluetooth integration for my 2010 GL1800

I am going to be purchasing new helmets for myself and my wife soon. My current helmet is the Nolan N40 with wired audio. They are over 7 years old and time to replace. I am going to replace them with the Nolan N40-5 helmet and install the Nolan B602R bluetooth audio system. I ride a 2010 Honda Goldwing and have an OEM CB system installed. I would like to be able to use my CB radio for group rides through the new bluetooth helmets. I'm looking for advice or comments for a solution.

I have a 2004 GL1800A also with the CB OEM, Garmin Zumo 595LM, and the replacement MP3 CD unit. I recently started riding with other bikes and groups. On my first ride with them I noticed they had headsets so I inquired what they were using. They were using the Sena 30K units. So my hunt started. I looked at the Cardo systems and the Sena systems and decided on compatibility as a major point of my purchase. Both Cardo and Sena had good points so the compatibility just made the choice to the Sena. I purchased a Sena 50S with the Honda Sena Freewire 2.0 unit.

The Freewire 2.0 connects to the bike's audio unit and gives me CB, MP3 (CD) connection, and [maybe] intercom - I don't have a co-rider now (wife passed away June 2021) to test the intercom. I have good CB communication IF I don't pair to the Garmin but I think that is user error (my fault) because when pairing the Garmin I didn't connect it as the GPS and it links as a second phone - with the riding season over for the year, I'm going to purchase a second Sena 50S and Freewire to test. Right now my Sena is doing 99% of what I need - only CB issues with Garmin paired.

I am loving the cutting the cord decision I made. Sena uses Open MESH and there is no pairing required for adding any fellow riders, no groups required to keep everyone connected in their riding position, anyone can leave the group and Open MESH just "drops" them and you don't even notice it. Oh yea, I now ride my Kawasaki more since I have a Garmin Zumo 660 on it with stored MP3 music - so I get to enjoy music and ride directions on either bike with no cords needed.

I went with your suggestion. I will be anxious to try it out when we start riding again.

Alan, I hope you're as happy as I have been since going with bluetooth. Take your time with the headset installations. I have found the newer helmets aren't as installation friendly connecting any headsets - even the wired headsets I installed - as my earlier helmets. They tend to have more structure along the bottom cushioning glides. I have had to do minor trimming of plastic glides for the headset locking bases. I try to "measure twice and cut once".
