I'm seeing on FB and forums about how the chapters are shrinking and chapter participants are getting older.
Dealerships used to be the introduction to GWRRA membership. While the dealer may not have been the active promoter, they usually had a GoldWing tech/mechanic who was a GWRRA member and introduced each new purchase of a Goldwing (even used) to the organization. Today it is hard to even get a dealership to help sell a helmet let alone introduce a rider to an organization for riders.
This may not be the full reason for shrinking chapters but without coming up with a new plan to invite and welcome any riders to any organization, everything will be status quo. Chapters will continue to shrink and the participants will get older and the worst - pass away.
I'm wondering when (not IF) some are going to leave the chapter shrinking laments and start looking at solutions to growing the chapters. After all, if there isn't a when, there won't have to be an "if" because chapters will be a memory of the past.
