Former GWRRA Members in TN. Leadership Issues?

This is the first time I have asked this and much less started a conversation on this message board but I have a question for anyone from TN who was in GWRRA prior to it going belly-up and subsequently "going their own way" and joining Wing'd Rider such as myself and my wife. Does anyone know why the TN state GWRRA leadership took it upon themselves without so much as to giving any individual member or chapter any input or say on which succeeding organization, Wing'd Riders or Eagle Riders they would align with? Fortunately, I did my own research and feel like made the best decision for my wife and I to become part of the Wing'd Rider family despite what the TN State GWRRA Leadership "determined" what was best for those coming from the State of Tennessee. I am not looking back on the decision made nor do I have any regrets becoming a Charter member of Wing'd Rider. I am looking forward to the "ride" we will take in 2023 and years to come. My level of excitement is much more with Wing'd Rider than it ever was in GWRRA. I can't put it into words other than I "just feel it."
I regret for other former TN State GWRRA members that leadership felt compelled to make such an autocratic decision without member or chapter input. My wife and I have usually gone our own way, made up our own minds on whatever came up. You might even call us "Free Birds." With all that has come to pass during this last year and our transition from GWRRA to Wing'd Riders, I am glad we "do our own thing." We are both looking forward the the 1st Wing'd Rider Rally in Litchfield later this year. It will be her first trip on any portion of Route 66. She is excited. See you in Jun.

Dale, I don't live in Tennessee, but one thing I know about my area is that they had issues with previous members of the GWRRA staff that are now part of Wing'd Riders. It is bad that personal issues would dictate who you went with and not what the organization can do for you. I decided to go with Wing'd Riders because of their vision of Safety and Training. I am not regretting my decision!! Now to get home and get some riding in!!
